All About Web Hosting

The web hosting industry is very competitive and many companies today are offering huge web spaces that most people will never even come close to filling.

A personal site rarely uses more that 5-10 MG of space, while a business site with assorted downloads may need more space or more services like CGI access, or Mysql

Many companies will also offer to host more than 1 domain  per account. This is reasonable if you have several domains to house.

For companies that don't offer to house more than 1 domain per account, or only offer sub domain hosting, you may want to use domain name forwarding, to make any file on any site appear to be your domain.

Several but not all Domain Registrars offer the feature of domain forwarding. Check to see if yours does.

Companies that offer free domains with their hosting service have built the price of the domain into their hosting package

Often buying your own domain name separately will turn out to be a far better deal

Incidentally I buy both my own and my clients domain names from
www.GoDaddy.com

Selecting a web hosting provider is like inviting someone to share your business and should be considered carefully.

If your hosting company is unreliable, then your site will be unreliable as well.

The cheapest or most expensive is not necessarily the best or worse one to choose.

Ask question and get answers before you sign up, if the answers you get are very vague then go somewhere else.

Domain Services

Lunarpages is our first choice in web hosting. With our own personal experience we found Lunarpages  to be a topnotch web hosting service.

Currently Lunarpages   offer 1500 GB of space, unlimited add on domains and a free domain name for life amongst it's many features.

This is an excellent offer at just $6.95 per month that you really need to take a serious look at.

 350GB and 3500GB for $6.95 a month!

Sub Domain hosting is still a good bet for homepages or personal pages, and there are still plenty of free providers around, however the free sites usually run ads on your site and this will detract much from your site.

For a very small fee you can get ad free sub-domain hosting from two of my personal favorite places.

Visit

S-Host-2   to get a 20 mg site free for the first 3 months, then pay just .99 per month there after.

or you can get a smaller space at

Cmark1  They offers a nice 10 mg space for a tiny cost of just  .49 per month. This is likely an ideal size for your first or small site.

Once your up and running, don't forget to add your site to one of our webrings and start generating some extra cool traffic
